Bacteriophages as an aid for neurodermatitis<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Atopic dermatitis is now one of the most common<\/strong> chronic<\/strong> inflammatory<\/strong> skin diseases<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to statistics, up to 25 percent<\/strong> of the Northern European population suffer from atopic dermatitis. In the coastal regions of southern Europe, on the other hand, the figure is only around one percent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Germany is on average at 10 to 15<\/strong> percent\n 1<\/sup>\n<\/span>. Even if the distribution differs from region to region, the symptoms are the same and are caused by a disturbance of the skin flora, in which bacteria multiply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phage application for neurodermatitis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A phage application<\/a> can provide relief if you suffer from neurodermatitis. Bacteriophages are applied to the skin for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This allows them to fight harmful bacteria and restore the balance<\/strong> of the skin flora<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to pay attention to proper skin care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should avoid soaps and shower gels as much as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cosmetic products that contain preservatives, fragrances, colorants, emulsifiers, kerosene oil or Vaseline are counterproductive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do phages help against neurodermatitis?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bacteriophages actually live up to their name as “bacteria eaters<\/strong>“. They act against harmful bacteria by using them as host cells<\/strong> and “eating” them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bacteria are the cause of various skin diseases. Phages can help here if they are used in a targeted manner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the case of atopic dermatitis, it is not<\/strong> yet clear<\/strong> whether a bacterium<\/strong> causes the flare-ups<\/strong> or whether the cracked<\/strong> skin creates a breeding ground for the bacterium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atopic dermatitis is usually caused by an excess of bacteria of the genus Staphylococcus aureus<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During an acute flare-up, the skin flora is in an imbalance. This is why these harmful bacteria multiply faster. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In such cases, the very bacteriophages that destroy these bacteria are used. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
